Trump's Mar-a-Lago Records

President Trump has been fighting for a while now to keep the records of who he has met with at the resort, Mar-a-Lago.  'Mr. Trump visited Mar-a-Lago for 25 days between his inauguration and the middle of May, when the club closes for the summer.' according to a New York Times article, and it is possible that during that time he was meeting with people that would influence his political decisions so that he would do things for their own benefit.  'William I. Koch, who oversees a major mining and fuels company, belongs to Mar-a-Lago, according to [lists of Mar-a-Lago members] obtained in early 2017, as did the billionaire trader Thomas Peterffy, who spent more than $8 million on political ads in 2012 warning of creeping socialism in America.'  This is alarming because Trump could have met with people who could have swayed his political decisions severely, and not letting people know who he met with suggests that something is going on that the public would not approve of.  I am honestly not too worried about who he did/did not meet with during those days because I feel that these meetings were probably not too game-changing in terms of his presidency.  However, I disapprove of his secrecy and believe that he should be working harder to maintain trust across the country and transparency is a start to doing so.  Of course, I also understand why he would want to keep his business a secret, but seeing as Obama went through the same thing and ultimately made his meeting records public, I think that it would save a lot of effort to keep records public right off the bat.
Hopefully with time will come a full list of who Trump met with at Mar-a-Lago, and people will learn whether or not they had anything to worry about.  If people find out instead that Trump was meeting with people that he should not have been, this issue could become a lot bigger than I am anticipating.
